How to Join
You have already made the first step. It only takes a few minutes to join, and you can start your first class the same day. Just arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the start of class.

Unlike health clubs, there are no contracts to sign. AOS offers a few membership packages, and you choose the package that works best for you, or you can pay month to month. The choice is always that of the student. There is a one-time registration fee for all new students. Membership dues are payable the first of each month, and convenient payment options are available. If you find Aikido is what you have been looking for and want to share with your friends and family, periodically we have discounts and incentives for existing students. Once you are a member, you will have access to the student area, which provides students with Aikido information, as well as special programs available.

Classes are always ongoing. New students simply begin attending the classes they prefer. For the first few classes, you will be given personalized instruction, to ensure you understand some of the basic moves, and more importantly to fall correctly. Everyone works at his or her own pace.

General dojo conduct. (Reigi Saho)

Aikido is not a religion but it remains deeply influenced by traditional Japanese values. Rei (which means appreciation and respect) and the manner by which it is expressed (Reigi Saho). Rei is shown to O'Sensei (the Founder of Aikido), to the sensei (instructors) and to all training partners.

For a better understanding of Reigi Saho, it is suggested to view this article written by the late Kanai sensei.

All students receive dojo etiquette information as part of their introduction to the dojo and is available in the students area for reference.
